I watch American Riflemen, ShootingUsa, Shootimg Gallery and several shooting firearm related magazines.  I have yet to read a negative review of a new firearm.  You really have to go to social media, forums, to get the "rest of the story" (RIP Paul Harvey)

I always got a kick out of that. Most of the reviewers just like the fact they get a loaner firearm for a few weeks. One bad review and that stops. Everything with a grain of salt.

Are gun stores in NY selling M1A's with muzzle brakes these days?

Once the 10 round mag is fixed, yes.  Although the last ruling on the law pretty much ruled the law was ambiguous with its break/brake references, still you will not find semi auto rifles with removable mags and muzzle breaks being sold.  ..I mean brakes

I was asking because I saw this. I guess the mag might be fixed. Can't tell from a photo. The guy does live on LI.

Yep, it is fixed.  If you zoom in you don't see the mag release latch.  Pretty much you remove that and replace it with a kit that will only allow you to remove the mag by dissambling the rifle, which renders it disabled as per the law, during that time.  Once assembled and your 10 round inserted and fixed, you then feed it with loading clips or just one round at a time.

As always things are open to interpretation, but with a home equity loan and some good lawyering, at the very least, you have a compelling argument going in :D

The law is sooo ambiguous that you must show you complied with the law. There is nothing in the law that says that M1A does not comply. Sure it can be removed but only by rendering the firearm useless.

Someone, got it lol.

I was more curious if the break vs brake loophole was being exploited. But thinking about it now, that's a flash hider anyway.
