Before going through that expense I would have a plumber come in and check pressure and flow rate . This should determine if the problem is within the house piping and /or water meter. At that point a determination can be made . A jet pump is what you are looking . It's an inline pump that will boost house pressure without needed a storage tank
Do you know of any plumber who can recheck.  I had the utility company and they basically told me that my house being on a hill and being tapped into the old main were probably the culprit ... I think they mentioned galvanized pipes and such.

I would like to know if there are plumbers who can install the pump and recommend a really good one.  What happens when these things fail.  Does your basement floods?

If there was any way I could swing it to do right t from rest time, I would.

If there was any way I could swing it to do right the first time, I would.

I was told by the utility company this is due to my water coming from a street below my house.  If I get the water from the street in front and at the same level as my house problem would be solved.
Think about how crazy this sounds. Are they saying you tap into the water main along from another street maybe 150+ ft away, rather than right in front of your house? That's ludicrous. It'd mean your supply line is running under someone's house or yard. That's like say your phone or electric lines are connected to a pole on the next block. And your wires have to go over someone elses house to get there. Sounds like they're feeding you a story to get money from you.
Like Keepkool said, have a plumber see what size line you have coming into and throughout your house. My house is an older one, so the pipes are not as big as in newer houses. And that's why pressure drops throughout the house when multiple faucets are running, or the toilet is flushed. That's what the home inspector told me when we were buying the house. But I wasn't about to change all the lines in the house for something which I saw as almost normal.

If the water company can't supply adequate pressure and volume to the output of their handoff to your home, I would think it would be on them to eat the cost of whatever changes are required. I would make some noise and run it up the chain.

Maybe you should pay them 75% of the bill each time, tell them your money comes a long way before it gets to the bank.

I was telling my wife that summers are not what they used to be.  They used to be hot and unrelentless back in the 80's.  She quickly remind me that back then I used to live in Manhattan in a 3 bedroom apartment with 4 siblings sharing one bedroom and no air conditioner.  Now I have my own house, central AC, new insulation and if bored a pool to refresh my over grown head. ... I am like shit, for a totally broke guy I am living the life.  God bless America!

I have had water pressure problems. They only have to give you 20 PSI. That is what department of health says.
Some of my neighbors even had to put in booster pumps! At 20, if you open 2 things at once, forget it. I had to have my sprinklers sytem feed moved to the street. It made a huge difference,

Some orthopedics offices have wait times of 1-2 hours. It's like cattle being led to the slaughterhouse.

Ya, specialists in demand could care less about wait times.  I sat for 90 min in the waiting room for a first appointment with an ENT, then another 30 in the examining room; after 2 hours, I retrieved my 'patient data sheet', demanded a refund of my co-pay and walked out.  Like PB said, loooooooong waits for Orthopedists.
