As We know The law does not ban actual model or style of weapons, it bans features which it deems illegal and in combination.  So if an AR is totally compliant with said features, it is not loophole.  It is just that a compliant and therefore legal firearm.

They don't want to say this.  But this is the truth.  AR = Assault Rifle.  People truly believe that when you say Assault weapon, or rifle, you are talking about the AR 15 which in their minds was banned.  Note they don't show AKs or M14's or any other current or old semi auto military style rifle.  They show only the AR.

Ask anyone to draw or show you a picture of that they consider an assault rifle and they will show you an AR.

ARs are not banned but the majority of folks think that was what the law banned in NYC, CT or Boston...  It is just amazing how these politicians can be so ignorant or play on the ignorance of their constituency

http://boston.cbslocal.com/2016/07/20/assault-weapons-ban-extension-copycat-massachusetts-maura-healey/

Quote
ďIf a gunís operating system is essentially the same as a banned weapon, or a gunís component parts are interchangeable with those of a banned weapon, itís a copy and itís illegal,Ē said Healey.
This cuts both ways, and can be the loophole to knock down the law. For, if so called assault weapons, have the same operating system as your standard semiautomatic hunting rifle. And if those hunting rifles are legal, and would probably never be challenged. Then it stands to reason those guns with the same operating system would also be legal. The more liberals and anti-gun people speak, the more they put their foot in their mouths.

I am telling you they are gathering wood for the fire.  .... They are building up their case on each incident that happens.

Between Islamic terrorism, mental illness and the sensationalism guaranteed to any copy cat that wants his/her name to famous, we have the next attack likely using a firearm guaranteed.

There really is no difference between an ar and standard semi auto rifle like a ruger mini 14. They really want to ban all semi autos but they know they cant. Stunts like this might just get SCOTUS to pickup a case because they are being so vague about what's legal and not. The question is will the court be staffed to rule a 5/4 win by then.
