Very interesting. The last one I saw was their cheaper uhd65. Iíve got a few 4K TVís that do HDR and itís pretty obvious youíll never get that kind of color range with a normal bulb based setup. Laser is obviously a different case as it allows true on/off like local dimming in a regular TV. Neat stuff.
^ you nailed it!

Impressive. Would you like to have 2, two foot sections of rack rail
and a package of rack screws?
Free of course

So I waited long enough and I was able to get the coveted Klipsch RF 7 II speakers

At 100lbs each and 48.5 inches tall theses are huge.  But boy do they sound sweet.

They now have version III which means they have to get rid off the IIs

I forget if I mentioned it before but one of the reasons why I didn't feel compelled to get one of the quasi-4k projectors out now is that very little content is actually in 4k. Even the UHD blu-ray movies aren't sourced in 4k most of the time, but rather 1080p that's been upsampled and sharpened.

Yup

I only play stream video from Vudu,Netflix and amazon and the occasional YouTube.  All 1080p.  The most I also get is 5.1 sorround sound.  My 7.2 sorround does a good job in turning 5.1 to 7.2.  Also my 1080 projector has capabilities to increase the resolution of the video.

Until they start streaming 4K I am going to wait and see.

More fuel for the 4K fire.

True 4k res, at 3000 lumens driven by laser. Although it supports HDR, the range is really supports isn't much higher than 8-bit. MSRP is 4k so the street would be a good amount less. I didn't think this stuff would be in our price range all that soon, but it appears I was wrong.

I am going to wait until end of this year... these are just coming out of the oven.  Making all the non-laser powered 4K projectors at incredibly low price.  Once the laser ones hit the $2000- 2500 price mark I will get one.

My projector lamp is about to expire and the original lamp is $299.  Once it goes I hope to be at that point where the price is around those numbers...
