Title: Mid Atlantic Sectional
Post by: Jhenke on January 01, 2020, 10:31AM
I saw the announcement yesterday. The Mid Atlantic Sectional is May 22-24 at Ontelaunee in Pa. Registration opens January 11 @8pm. Who's interested in going?

If allowed to squad on for the weekend I am in.

Got the email today about it....   maybe. Trying to mentally plan my May.  4-5 days turkey hunting in the beginning of the month, 4+ days at that match...  lots of money, miles, tolls, gas and vacation days.

Oh well, aren’t we special

Poor is the term you're grasping for.  I can only shoot the match if I give up four days of my life in exchange.

This match isn't even listed on the USPSA website, though it is listed on Practiscore. I don't go on Facebook or anything like that. Is there any info on how the registration, paying, and squadding will work? Is it going to be another one of those register, pay, and squad all at once? We should decide what squad we will all attempt to go into before registration opens.

Ok, like Bob said, let's settle how we can squad together. What day works for everyone? There are 10 squads each day, half of Friday is reserved. I'd prefer to shoot Saturday.

If we are going to party like it is 1969 I am in.  Let the ladies know I am coming

Saw this on the Practiscore site:
Quote
Match fees must be paid by check or money order. Once payment is received, you will be approved to squad.

Checks should be made payable to Vicki Lynch and
mailed to:
Vicki Lynch
PO Box 3063
Stowe, Pa 19464

So it looks like we'll be waiting a few days before we can squad, which can really mess us getting squadded together. Hopefully those with some influence, can get us reserved into the same squad like in some other years.

Also, this match is being sponsonered by Techwear. So hopefully the match shirts will be of better quality than those in previous years.

I saw that. I am really hoping there is a pay option when registering.

Maybe there'll be an option  to mail in the payments together, so they put us all in the same squad regardless of what squad.
In the past, Kevin O'Brian was able to reserve a squad for us to all squad together in. But it looks like different people are running it this time.

I think you pay online and then registered.  Then you wait for approval to squad

Registration is now 7pm, not 8pm!

Still surprising that this match was never listed on the USPSA site. That, along with the last minute change of the start time of registration earlier, makes me feel they wanted to limit the number of people attempting to register.  :thinking

Well I missed the action

On a waiting list.  But I am not holding my breath ... I will try again next year

There's also the Area 7 and 8 matches.

Called the Comfort Inn(match hotel), and found the room rates are$80/night. Very reasonable compared to previous years, which were a little over $100.

I have family who live in Maryland and I could probably stay over.  In for Area 7 and 8.  If I can registered.  Maybe I will have better luck

The Delaware state championship sounds like something I can do too.  I will try that one as well

It looks like a lot of people already got approved to squad, and are in squad 5. This includes Anna, Ed, and John Napolitano. They must've sent in the payment overnight mail.  :thinking

Keep on checking ... looks like no luck.  No one is quitting or more squads are opened

Maybe they knows people  :serious-business:

I suspect there are different levels of registration.  The very last two being: waiting to be approved to squad and wait-listed.  The others I have not had the privilege.   In the past and at another level II , some folks have had the time not only to squad but to move around while others are held back at the gates

I am sure there are good reasons

Let's see what happens today. My payment was delivered this morning. So let's see if I get the approval to squad.
